Recent Happenings

Here are a few updates of things we have been doing in school.
We celebrated our first birthday for the year at the end of August. Happy Birthday!

Grandparents Day was September 9 and to honor our grandparents each student made a heart with their handprints.  After the paint dried everyone wrote a poem around the heart.  We then worked are addressing envelopes to get them sent in the mail.

The kids enjoyed practicing their spelling words by painting them fall colors of red, orange, and yellow on black paper.

To start our second chapter in science we opened up with a lab.  To do this we used two pieces of paper.  We then placed six Kleenexes on each sheet of paper.  One paper was rolled up with just the Kleenexes.   We then placed pasta on a pipe cleaner and rolled that up with the Kleenexes in the second piece of paper.  The paper with just the Kleenexes shows an animal without a backbone and the paper with the pasta shows an animal with a backbone.  Now we have Wiggle the Worm without a backbone and Scales the Snake with a backbone.
